Hope House's Response during COVID-19
HOPE HOUSE at HOME: We're here for you during COVID-19
UPDATE 2021-01-03
COVID-19 has changed our everyday world and has contributed to feelings of stress and worry, especially to those diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, family caregivers and the bereaved. The Hope House team remains committed to caring for our community and supporting wellbeing during this difficult time.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be monitored closely and the health and safety of our clients, families, volunteers and staff continues to be paramount. The COVID-20 Guidance document from the Ministry of Health states: "Hospices offering community support services have largely navigated to virtual delivery of these programs and should continue to do so, to reduce the potential risk of COVID-19 transmission between patients and hospice staff."
We recognize that this it has been very difficult not seeing each other, however, for the time being we will continue to suspend in-person support until we can be sure of the safety and wellbeing of all. In the meantime, we continue to offer “Hope House at Home” virtual programming - including wellness groups, virtual complementary therapy, bereavement groups, volunteer visits (telephone), etc."
Staff continue to be available during regular business hours for support via telephone, email, and video-chat. Team contact information, including mobile numbers are available on our website: www.hopehousehospice.com/our-team. Note: Team member’s office extensions have been forwarded to their mobile phones.
Our offices remain closed at this time.
Hope House welcome new referrals and will be providing telephone and virtual support as needed.
We appreciate your understanding and patience and look forward to welcoming you back to our programs soon.
